Product Description The 3rd pulse-pounding season of macgyver the immensely popular action-adventure series that become a part of pop culture. Studio: Paramount Home Video Release Date: 05/01/2007 Run time: 942 minutes Rating: Nr
Amazon.com In "Ghost Ship," MacGyver's boss, Pete (Dana Elcar), is asked to define what makes Mac (Richard Dean Anderson) so special. He replies, "You know, I've known him for eight years now, and I've never quite been able to put my finger on it. He just always comes through, no matter what." And that he does. MacGyver's third season begins with a blast from the past when Mac runs into Lisa (Elyssa Davalos), a woman he thought he had killed (unintentionally, of course). Turns out Lisa's just fine, but she did do a little time in a Russian gulag, proceeding to marry the ex-KGB operative who set her free. The two-part season opener ("Lost Love") allows Mac to make it up to his former flame with a little help from pal Jack (Bruce "D-Day" McGill), AKA "The Great Sheldrake," whose latest career move is magician. The producers must have felt that Anderson and Davalos had chemistry as she returns a few episodes later ("Fire and Ice")--sans Russian accent--as Nikki, a different, recurring character (oddly enough, Mac fails to note the resemblance). Like Teri Hatcher's Penny, who doesn't appear in the third season, Nikki isn't a love interest, but a friend (and Phoenix Foundation colleague). While Penny will return the following year, Nikki will not. Fortunately, Michael Des Barres' maniacal Murdoc does reappear ("The Widowmaker"), but only once before Mac neatly dispatches him yet again--or does he? Other guest stars include three Kung Fu vets: The Sopranos Joe Santos ("Back From the Dead"), Blade Runner's James Hong ("Lost Love"), and Keye "Master Po" Luke ("Murderer's Sky," the season finale). The latter two appeared in previous years, but--like Davalos--as different characters (whereas Santos's Jimmy "The Eraser" Kendall was first introduced in the second season). --Kathleen C. Fennessy

MacGyver Season 3 September 7, 2008 Ryan T. Lucken The was product was brand new and arrived quicker than I thought it would. Outstanding!!
A great addition to my Macgyver collection September 7, 2008 Jennifer L. Nettles (SC) I am happy to add this season of Macgyver to my dvd library. Mcgyver is not overly violent, very little profanity and minumum sexuality. If my elderly mom or my young grandchildren wanted to watch Macgyver I would not feel embarrased to play it for them.
3rd Time a charmer for MacGyver June 19, 2008 Gil Wright (Decatur, AL USA) This is one of my all time favorite TV Shows. The third season is like the rest of the seasons in all respects. Plenty of Jammed packed action. I cannot believe this show was cancelled. I wish it was still on the air.
Great Collection, Substandard Transfer March 20, 2006 Kabroom (Briarsville, MO USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
Found this season on sale at the local mega mart and thought it would be a great watch-together for me and my eleven year old boy. Excellent story lines with only a few predictable plots. Fast enough pace to keep me and my young-un interested. Thin storage cases that hold two DVD's each - nice. I was afraid these were going to be double-sided DVD's - always tough to determine which episodes you're loading, but not to worry. Only real complaint is the video transfer. Looks like the source material was VHS tape rather than film stock. Acceptable on a portable DVD player, but annoying when seen on a big screen TV. Would have been 5 stars otherwise.
Great show - VERY POOR picture quality March 15, 2006 SmellsLikeScamSpirit (Seattle, WA, USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
The first two seasons on DVD had great picture quality and looked crisp and clean. Unfortunately this third season of MacGyver on DVD has abysmal picture quality. It looks as bad as a worn-out VHS tape, has color smears and horizontal streaks as if copied straight from somebody's tape collection. That's a shame because season 3 was the best yet :( Shame on you Universal!
