Amazon.com Forget about a three-hour tour--Gilligan's Island fans can sit right back and enjoy all 32 episodes of the much-loved television comedy and even a few extras with this three-disc set. GI aficionados will probably argue which episode deserves to be called the best in the series' three-year history until the end of time, but few will disagree that its sophomore season (1965-66) contains some of its funniest and best-remembered episodes. For starters, season 2 marks the show's debut in color, as well as the first time the Professor (Russell Johnson) and Mary Ann (Dawn Wells) were mentioned in the opening theme song (all of this occurs in the season opener, "Gilligan's Mother-in-Law"). But it also includes such classic episodes as "Hi Fi Gilligan" (Gilligan picks up radio signals in his mouth), "Don't Bug the Mosquitos" (faux Brit rockers land on the island), "Mine Hero" (a WWII mine washes up on the beach), "Meet The Meteor" (space debris makes the castaways age prematurely), and "The Friendly Physician" (a mad scientist's experiments cause the castaways to swap bodies), all of which have lost none of their laughs or pure entertainment value. The supplemental features, though slight, include an introduction by Johnson and series creator Sherwood Schwartz, as well as commentary by Schwartz on his favorite episode, "The Little Dictator." --Paul Gaita

Happy memories December 28, 2008 I. Kissel My grandson cried when he received this video to complete his "set" of Gilligan's Island series.
Just sit right back! November 5, 2008 K. Jarvis (Adelaide, AUS) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Lovin' it! - Was over the moon when this favourite childhood show was on sale in Australia - well season one anyway - about 3 years ago! Season two and three are still yet to be released here! Thank God for Amazon...all the fantastic memories came flooding back watching this and season three...even my five year old daughter has been obsessed watching - of course she loves Ginger - but then who doesn't?! Even just a casual watcher of the seemingly always on the air show, would be thrilled with this - in full colour, perfect picture and sound. Hard to believe this was only in production for three years! Only negative would be a lack of any additional features (apart from a voiceover...)
A classic that young kids today can enjoy too November 2, 2008 slim 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
They just don't make sit-coms like they used to. When it comes to slapstick humor, and crazy fun, Gilligan's Island is the one! There is also an inventiveness and creativity to this humor that you don't find in other comedies, making it unique and entertaining without insulting one's intelligence. The second season is in color, thank goodness. I'm finding my kids enjoy it now just as much as I did at their age "back in the day." With hours upon hours of episodes to watch, this is worth every penny, especially for long car trips! I'd rate the humor "G," though there are a few sultry moments involving Ginger that qualify as "PG." Overall though , it is good family entertainment, without the worry of profanity strewn in.

No problems with the video or delivery. My kids got to see what I enjoyed when I was a kid, and now they sing...."just sit back and here a tale.... Happy in Vegas
Love that Mary Ann September 26, 2008 J. Wheeler 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's a cute show but my main interest is how lovely Dawn Wells looks, what a beautiful girl. A shame she never was featured in an R-rated episode with scenes of her sunning and wading in the nude.
