Product Description Welcome to the worlds most famous & most glamorous bastion of hedonism the playboy mansion! for the 1st time ever go behind closed doors where youll meet holly kendra & gridget just your average girls next door with one small difference - theyre smokin hot! Studio: Tcfhe Release Date: 08/05/2008 Run time: 335 minutes
Amazon.com Arguably the junkiest and most entertaining reality TV series to date, The Girls Next Door's sensationalism capitalizes on the public's desire to understand what really goes on inside the Playboy Mansion. Starring Hugh Hefner's three main girlfriends as themselves (Kendra Wilkinson, Bridget Marquardt, and "first girl" Holly Madison), the three women, over the course of 15 episodes, describe their daily lives, their feelings for Hef, and the life choices that have helped them to make their dreams come true. Glimpses into Hef's personal affairs, and even his living quarters, like his cluttered but regal office and his gigantic bed, surely satisfy our need to gawk at celebrity. But as episodes delve deeper into this family's unique lifestyle, showing the competitive stress induced by Hugh's ex Barbi Benton's arrival in "Fight Night," or in the mad rush for lingerie preceding the infamous annual summer party, in "Midsummer Night's Dream," the viewer realizes that looking like a Playboy model is a full-time job. Episodes like "Just Shoot Me" fascinate by showing how Playboy photo shoots unfold, while "Grape Expectations," about Bridget's road trip to her hometown, Lodi, give the girls a down-to-earth patina. In fact, the show saliently demystifies pornography by making the industry's stars into real characters. This three-disc set features commentary, the unaired pilot, "Hef's World," and deleted scenes. If one craves to see the ultimate bimbos seamlessly revealing the sweet and sexy, The Girls Next Door is a no-brainer. --Trinie Dalton

I LOVE the Girls Next Door October 6, 2008 S. Meandro The Girls Next Door Season 1 is a wonderful television show. I fully enjoyed watching it on tv but after I purchased it on DVD it is now a favorite part of my DVD collection. This is a great show, one that should not be judged on the cover. It shows that these girls are not superficial gold-diggers but that they are kind and caring young women. The Girls Next Door helps define a generation where people are more liberal and free to be who are they are. We are no longer a closed-eye society but one that likes and appreciates new ways of thinking, just like these girls. When else would it be acceptable for a man aged eighty-two to have three girlfriends, all under the age of 35? The answer is, only at the Playboy Mansion. This DVD collection is one that is great, colorful, and entertaining. It is light and fun-loving and can bring a smile to a seemingly boring day. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a little escape from reality. Not only would I recommend Season 1, but look onward to the newest seasons, because they only get better. Purchasing this series on DVD only makes it better because you can watch it over and over, whenever you like. The DVD also contains bonus information and things that you would not be able to see. The DVD episodes are also un-censored, unlike watching it on television. Therefore, I would not recommend to show the DVD version of this show to young children, but perhaps refer them to the television version instead.
dumb show with plenty of T&A May 15, 2008 SpiritChild (Amherst, MA United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The only reason that anyone would want to watch this show is the beautiful women, and the fact that the DVD's are uncensored makes it all the better. Otherwise, this show is pretty stupid. Most episodes focus on the girls trying to please Hefner in some way (planning a party or buying a gift). Uncensored the show is completely unwatchable as the girls are total dumb @sses. While many fans consider Kendra (who is also the hottest) to be the dumbest girl of the trio, but I still remember Holly Madison's embarrassing debut on the Howard Stern show. She came in and sang a song "I want more radio, give me more Howard Stern". So desperate to get 15 minutes of fame, she agreed to walk the streets of New York wearing a dunce cap with a tampon taped to her nose. The funny thing is that everyone seems to have forgot.
Love this show May 14, 2008 Oriana Zonni (Toronto) I honestly just love this show. When I first watched it on tv I got hooked. It shows the girls aren't just dumb blondes that are with Hugh Hefner for his money like everyone thinks. It's deffinitely entertaining to watch. Kendra is deff my favorite, I think she is hilarious and I relate to her a lot! I always wanted to be a playmate, and still do. Hopefully one day I can.. =)
omg, LOVE! January 22, 2008 Customer (OK) this is the perfect fluff!! my mom and i watch it every time it's on if we're home!! lol. i can't believe they'd want to share one man with several different women and i personally believe in monogamy, but i can't stop watching!! the girls, well, i don't know if they are fake or not, but they *seem* sweet, and hef seems like a genuinly nice guy, even though i disagree with their lifestyle. if you are looking for the perfect guilty pleasure, this will do the trick! i hope they keep on making seasons, i haven't gotten tired of them yet!! at least give one episode a chance before you turn your nose up at it! LOVE!!
Pure fun January 19, 2008 Pugmom (Pittsburgh, PA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
To be honest, I bought this DVD set on a whim, expecting mindless schlock. One night when I was sick I popped a disc in and was surprised how much I enjoyed the show. Once I got past the "ewww" factor of the girls' relationship with Hef, I realized that they didn't all look alike and had separate personalities. The more I watched, the more I liked. By the time I had watched all the episodes, I wanted to hang out with the girls! Now, this is definitely not the Discovery Channel or the History Channel but rather is pure entertainment with no redeeming value. Being a reality show, it is scripted or directed somewhat, but not enough that it takes away from the genuineness of the happenings or the girls' personalities. My favorite episodes are the ones in which they go "on the road", to places such as NYC, Vegas, and Lodi, CA. You get an up-close-and-personal look at what it's like to live inside the Playboy Mansion, which is highly entertaining. You also get a sense of how powerful the Playboy empire is and the enormous number of staff at the mansion. Especially cute are the animals running around, from the girls' pets to exotic zoo animals. And the parties! My favorite episode showed the famous Midsummer Night's Dream party, which looks totally awesome. As a bonus, the girls give commentary on ALL of the episodes, which makes it double the fun. There is a lot of T and A (and other things), so this show is definitely not for the young or easily offended. But it is a great time, pure escapism.
